Free 3D print cost calculator for resin and filament printers. Drop an STL to get the volume automatically, then see the real cost of a print — material, electricity, failures and extras — plus a suggested selling price.
How the cost is calculated
- Resin: model volume + supports and waste, multiplied by your price per ml (bottle price ÷ bottle size).
- Filament: volume × material density × the share of plastic actually used (walls + infill), multiplied by your price per gram.
- Electricity: print time × printer power ÷ 1000 × your price per kWh.
- Failure buffer: a percentage added to cover failed prints.
- Suggested price: total cost + your profit markup.
Tips to lower your print cost
- Hollow resin models and add drain holes — it can save 50–80% of resin.
- Print several models on the same plate: resin print time does not grow with the number of models.
- For FDM, 10–20% infill is enough for most figures and decorations.
FAQ
How much does it cost to 3D print a figure?
A typical 75 mm resin miniature uses 10–30 ml of resin, which costs well under $1 in material. Larger busts can use 200 ml or more — use the calculator with your own prices for an exact number.
Is this calculator accurate?
It gives a solid estimate. For the exact resin use and time, check your slicer (Chitubox, Lychee, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio) after adding supports.
